Truco! o Algo...
About the game
Truco! o algo... is a Java implementation of a card game called
truco, which is very popular in South America.
Unlike most card games, truco is played with Spanish style cards. The
rules of the game can vary a little from one country to another, so make
sure you read the Game Rules, a wikipedia entry containing the
rules this game will use someday (I haven't finished programming the
game yet).
The game is distributed for free and with the source code. It all comes
in one single executable .jar package. To get the sources, just open it
with your favourite archiver (win zip, win rar, win something else...).
Feel free to modify and redistribute the game as you like, but please
mention the original when you do so.
Instructions (how to create a server and stuff)
Information regarding game usage is part of the in-game help. Just open
it and click on Help on the menu bar. You should get all the
information you need right there.
Creating and joining servers is relatively easy, you shouldn't have much
trouble understanding the connection mechanism, even without the help.
System Requirements
You don't need much to play the game, just a computer with a Java
Runtime Environment (JRE) installed and an internet connection. It
doesn't matter which operating system you use.
If you don't have JRE installed on your computer, visit Sun's official Java site and get the
latest version. It's easy to install and really useful (there are
millions of programs written in Java, so chances are you will need it
for something else).
Troubleshooting/Getting Help
If for some strange reason you can't play the game, please join the
forums and tell me about your problem, I'll try to solve it as
soon as possible. Keep in mind that by telling me about game issues you
are helping me improve it, so, you're not only free, but encouraged to
post in the forums. Just remember to be specific about the problem, make
it easy for me to track down and correct the bugs :P.
About the creator of the Game
This game was created by Ale Ricatti, the same mindbogglingly obnoxious
person responsible for the game design, programming, graphics,
manteinance, website creation, and also some Chuck Norris jokes that
linger the internet.
